daté·e·s
Premiered in 2020
2020
After ECCE (H)OMO and ALEXANDRE, two solos which sought to interpret an archive through bodily perspectives, Pol Pi puts this question at work once again having as a starting point the singular archives each individual carries within themselves. Inviting two dancers located in other points of time, culture, gender, he creates a crossroads between three generations, three stories: Pol Pi, dancer and choreographer born in 1982, trained in music and physical theatre, Solen Athanassopoulos, born in 2001, freestyle hip hop dancer, and Jean-Christophe Paré, born in 1957, former dancer at Opera de Paris and performer for many choreographers.
In « daté·e·s » (dated), the bodies become the seismographs of intimate marks, like documents in which to read the intensity, the desire, the commitment of a position in the present. From the biographical to the collective and from the collective to the intimate, their ways of moving, of exchanging, provoke a questioning that returns to each body – its ways of situating itself vis-à-vis its places of belonging. From the figure of the body as an archive – made of gestures, voices, memories – Pol Pi creates a constellation of alterities that recompose a plural political and subjective landscape.
