LÀ

LÀ is a site specific piece created for the Péniche POP (Paris), in collaboration with the sound artist Gilles Amalvi. It is a continuation of MIRANTE – Choreography for a landscape, a project that Pol developed in São Paulo in 2012, before settling in France.
LÀ questions the choreographic part of a landscape and the landscape part of a body in movement. While for MIRANTE… Pol chose to work with invisibility, connecting to the audience only through a phone call amplified by speakers, for LÀ the intuition was the opposite : dealing with overvisibilty by presenting his naked body to the audience in a restrained space.
The dramaturgy is based on a real walk around the theatre Péniche Pop, shared through movement and soundscape - a synaesthetical invitation to cross at distance the landscape around the theatre (through hearing) at the same time as Pol’s organic ultraclose body landscapes (through sight).
This project is an attempt to create a dialogue between scales, body and landscape, subject and environment, to bring into play gaps and proximities, the search for otherness is LÀ, « there ».
